Description
Winches (also known as windlasses) are an important part of any anchoring system.
These winches lower and brake the anchor chain so that the anchor can be lowered or hoisted safely.
In the winch, the gypsy allows you to grip the calibrated chain or the rope, transferring the traction of the electric motor to the anchor line.
Electric winch motors are usually available in 12 or 24 Volt direct current and 230-440V three phase alternating current. The electric motors are designed to provide the power needed for a long period of operation and are also designed to work at a higher speed and thus reducing the time of mooring operations.
